Tips that might change your mission statement

Writer: Lee ShainisLee Shainis

Here are two tips that could change millions of mission statements 😂.

1. Use no more than 2 commas or 2 "and"s in a sentence that is 10 words or more.

2. Remove phrases such as "committed to" and "strive to".

Don't start with "We are dedicated to supporting...".

Say it with fewer words and greater confidence - "We support...".

There are a few exceptions I discuss in trainings, but 95% of the time I suggest removing "aim to", "is designed to", etc.

I love working with groups to make mission statements, web pages, and everything more concise and easier to say.
